My work is the result of an ever ricocheting attention span, bouncing from one nearly unrelated subject to another. A black comedy of epic proportions where Robbie Knievel rivals his father for a place in history not simply by defying death but by laughing at the disintegration of the planet while doing so. Unseen forces beg for your comradery or forgiveness, or try to sell you condos, while the food you eat turns your teeth into mush.
Through snippets of current events, bolstered by pop culture and attached to the world at large my work deals with the catalogue of human disasters both personal and global in nature. Often my research begins by pondering the curious problem of how human beings have gotten themselves into such tragedies, and how they succeed or fail to adapt to these situations. Through humor, narrative and metaphor I attempt to dissect health problems, environmental disasters and political crisis and our contemporary inabilities to do anything about them.
