Printing Projects
As part of the community outreach of Paper City I often look to partner with groups to design and print material they need for various purposes. From student exhibitions and print sales, to brochures and pamphlets- these projects have helped me better understand the capabilities of the Riso printer and work on my skills as a designer.
City Reliquary
In the summer of 2022 I was put in touch with Dave Herman from the City Reliquary in Brooklyn NY. As they were preparing for a new exhibition titled "Wonder Women: NYC’s Heroes of Heterodoxy" they found a printing error in their exhibition brochure. Dave saw an opportunity to reprint the page, along with an additional poster image. Needing a printer to complete the work Dave and I were put in touch via a mutual friend. As it happened the exhibition opened the same day as the ruling from the Supreme Court that effectively overturned Roe v. Wade. The exhibition seemed somehow both fortunately and unfortunately timed-
"For over a century, all across New York City, the women behind the fascinating evolution of Wonder Woman have rejected social norms and fought tirelessly to break the chains of orthodoxy in its many forms." - an excerpt from the exhibition page.
Wanting to capitalize on the current events Dave and the team at City Reliquary used the reprint to not only fix the errors in the original exhibition materials, but to also produce a poster for abortion rights. The design was produced by Pamela Parker and I served as the master printer. The piece was a 2 sided Riso print with 2 colors on each side- black and bright red on the text side and bright red and light teal on the poster side. In total some 1,500 prints were produced.

Benefit for Jasmyn/ Print Sale Poster
In the Fall of 2022 Printmakers Against Racism created a call for action to benefit the LGBTQIA+ community. I organized an online sale of prints by students, alum, and faculty for a local non-profit Jasmyn that "supports the empowerment of LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults through leadership, advocacy, resources, and a safe and affirming community."
In a week long sale we sold 23 prints raising $615 for Jasmyn. The majority of the prints sold were by students, some new to printmaking.

El día de Muertos/ Day of the Dead
In the Fall of 2022 Dr. Andrea Gaytán Cuesta from the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Department at UNF asked me to collaborate on a pamphlet to create a unique way to teach about the traditions of El día de Muertos, the Day of the Dead.
Dr. Cuesta provided the text and I created a small pamphlet with a draw your own sugar skull page as a fun way to engage students. Copies were provided to attendees of a El día de Muertos celebration held at the Language Lab at UNF on November 2nd, 2022.
