Routine Maintenance
COVID 19 continues to impact opportunities available to visual artists in exhibiting their artwork, however this remains a crucial and unique time for artists to produce artwork. This project created an opportunity for 24 artists to contribute new work as part of a themed portfolio of original prints titled “Routine Maintenance” which was exhibited at the UNF Gallery and afterward was donated to the growing UNF Permanent Collection. The portfolio was shown again as part of my exhibition "Tempo" at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta GA in 2022. This project was supported by a Research Enhancement Plan Grant from the College of Arts and Sciences at UNF.
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our normal routines, blurred the lines between work and home, and required us to adapt to new cycles. This portfolio documents this upheaval. Each artist was assigned an hour of the day and produced a print inspired by that time. These 24 images represent a day seen through the eyes of 24 artists, reflecting the diversity of experience in how we now conduct our days.
